Delicious! Hummus in Jordan
We had to try this place touted on our Rough Guide’s book as the best restaurant in Madaba, if not all of Jordan. In fact, it was strongly recommended on Trip Advisor as well as by our hotel owner and the local souvenir vendor. You could order an array of mezzes (appetizer) dishes and call it dinner. They are simple and small, like tapas, but so well prepared and flavorful. The bread that accompanies every meal is perfectly toasted warm with just a sprinkle of fresh-roasted sesame seeds. Delicious!
You’d think we tried something fancier. But no, we mostly ordered basic dishes like hummus – one of the all-time staple foods in the Mediterranean and the Middle East. For three straight weeks, we ate it almost every day. But no where was it tastier than at this joint named Haret Jdoudna. Without a second thought, we returned two more times.
